Bourse de Commerce - Pinault Collection
After years of waiting, the Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection has finally been inaugurated. Between the Louvre and Pompidou Centre, this historic building has been given a second lease of life thanks to Japanese architect Tadao Ando. The collection of contemporary artworks assembled by businessman François Pinault is a wonderful diversification of offerings in Paris, already teeming with museums.
La galerie du jour agnès b
Known as a designer, agnès b. has also worked for many years as a patron of the arts and is a collector of contemporary art. In 1984, she launched the Galerie du Jour, now housed in La Fab. Inaugurated in 2020, this atypical setting accommodates all the designer's activities: her collection, an art-gallery and a bookshop.
Galerie Lévy Gorvy
After New York, Palm Beach, London and Hong Kong, the duo formed by Dominique Lévy and Brett Gorvy moved in 2020 into the former Espace Claude Berri, designed by architect Jean Nouvel. The artists presented include Alexander Calder, Pierre Soulages, Martial Raysse, Joel Shapiro, Yves Klein and Michelangelo Pistoletto.
Massimo De Carlo - Pièce Unique
One space, one artist, one artwork - an offbeat way of exhibiting art through a window. This idea conjured up in 1989 by Italian art-dealer Lucio Amelio has now been adopted by gallery-owner Massimo De Carlo at this first address in France, opened in February, 2021.
Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature
Still too little known, the Hunting and Nature Museum has just been treated to a makeover. The chance to (re)discover this intriguing place nestling in the Hôtel de Guénégaud and Hôtel de Mongelas. Not to be missed: a welcome to the sound of the hunting horn on opening nights.
Musée Carnavalet
Following four years of renovation work, the capital's oldest museum has just reopened its doors. Facades, windows, courtyards and parquet flooring have been restored, together with all the 3,800 works on display including the desk of Madame de Sévigné and the painting by David, "Le Serment du Jeu de Paume".
Galerie David Zwirner
The son of a German art-dealer and a collector from a very early age, David Zwirner opened his first gallery in SoHo in 1993. Diane Arbus, Yayoi Kusama, Dan Flavin, Thomas Ruff, Rirkrit Tiravanija and Richard Serra are among the artists presented in his Parisian gallery, inaugurated in autumn, 2019.
Galleria Continua
Opened in 1990 by Mario Cristiani, Lorenzo Fiaschi and Maurizio Rigillo, this art-gallery of Italian origin has extended its activities to Havana, Peking, São Paulo, but also France, in an XXL building in Seine-et-Marne. In parallel, a smaller but equally "alternative" gallery has just been inaugurated in Paris, in Le Marais.
