As an art-dealer, gallery-owner and collector of contemporary art, I have long spent a great deal of time in the Hotel as the concept of proposing a concierge art service and a cinema, but also opening an "art district" and art library here, have made it a natural destination for me.
The Fred Allard exhibition during Paris Fashion Week 2018, a spectacular artistic event from the lobby to the communal premises. On a par with a gallery or art fair, which is rare for an hotel, very impressive!
The two one-man shows for sculptors Stéphane Cipre and Idan Zareski that Bel-Air Fine Art (of which I am CEO but also Art Director) organized in collaboration with the Hotel. As well as exhibiting works by these artists in the gallery, we also installed more in the hotel's public areas to introduce as many people as possible to their works. Opening nights were also held to celebrate these launches within the Hotel, very enjoyable moments of sharing.
Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris is my second home when I'm passing through Paris. I always give collectors and many artists appointments here after visiting our gallery, and I appreciate being able to work in such a convivial, prestigious place.
As a fan of cigars, I am fortunate to have access to the private cigar lounge, "Le Club Vinales". I spend moments of quietness and reflection there, indispensable in my life as a traveller, as our group now owns 22 galleries, mainly in Europe.
A big "Hello" to the teams who have all become involved in this unique concept of an "Arty Palace". I then spend a long moment in the gallery to change the presentation, prepare for up-coming exhibitions, or meet collectors and artists by appointment. Art cannot exist without passion and sharing, and Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris has given its showcase added value by staging these emotions so essential to our souls.
